Questions?

Question: My child is a senior in high school, is it too late to teach self-advocacy and conflict resolution skills?

Answer: No! While self-advocacy skills should be taught as early as possible, it's never too late to teach these important skills.

Question: My daughter is in 3rd grade, isn't it a little early to teach her self-advocacy skills? She has an IEP and her teachers know what she needs.

Answer: No! Although your daughter's teachers understand her needs and provide her accommodations, she should begin to learn these skills so she can speak on her own behalf.

Question: Can a parent teach these skills to their child?

Answer: Absolutely! Any trusted person in the child's life can be involved in teaching self-advocacy skills!

All resources are available for free and may be downloaded for your convenience.
